Customer messages

Can AI answer customer messages after hours without annoying them?

A customer writes at 9:40pm. Nobody is at work. Who answers? Try the examples below.

Same message, three ways to handle it

Made-up example: a small business with three holiday flats. Not a real client.

Who does what

The machine answers

  • "Got it. This is an automatic reply."
  • Fixed facts from your list: parking, hours, address
  • Asks for a missing detail, like dates or how many people
  • Says when a person will reply

A person answers

  • Prices and free dates, unless it reads your live calendar and price list
  • Discounts, pets, special requests
  • Complaints and upset customers
  • Anything not on your list

What we've learned building these

Never let the AI guess a price.

A price typed once into the assistant's instructions goes out of date when you change your list. Then it can quote the old one with full confidence. It should read prices from the list you keep up to date, or hand the question to a person.

Do this yourself this week. Free.
